UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones could face up to 3 years in prison if convicted of felony hit-and-run involving a 30-year-old pregnant woman.
Albuquerque Police Officer Luis Hernandez said Jones has agreed to turn himself in, but didn’t have any information on when or where that would be.
According to Officer Simon Drobik, Jones was facing a misdemeanor summons for the hit-and-run and a person of interest, but Hernandez said, “Due to the major injuries of the driver, it has been upgraded to a felony.”
The victim, Vanessa Sonnenberg, was taken to the hospital complaining of her arm being hurt, and she was treated there for a broken arm.
Meanwhile, the UFC has not said whether Jones would be replaced at UFC 187 where he is set to defend his title against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson.
